OBXtek Charitable Foundation

Supporting Our Disabled Heroes and Promoting Education Initiatives

Over the years, we’ve supported many inspiring organizations doing important work. The OBXtek Charitable Foundation creates structure and processes to positively address social issues and make an even greater impact on our communities.

We were founded as a service-disabled veteran-owned small business. A main initiative of the OBXtek Charitable Foundation is proudly supporting our brave service members disabled in the line of duty. We’re able to make a substantial impact on the veteran and broader service communities through targeted giving, scholarships, and employment opportunities.

At OBXtek we practice giving back to our community from the grassroots up. Since our founding, we’ve only donated to and volunteered for organizations suggested by our employees. With the help of our amazing team, we’ve worked with remarkable organizations like Semper K9 Assistance Dogs, Kina’ole Foundation, and Serve Our Willing Warriors.

The OBXtek Charitable Foundation will also support initiatives and organizations helping create equity and access in education for future generations.

Our Communities

Giving Back to the Communities That Nurture Us

Prioritizing our communities has always been a guiding light at OBXtek. We want to give back to the people who give us so much, and encourage our employees in building more sustainable, healthy communities.

We’ve proudly supported organizations such as Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project, Equal Justice Initiative, Thurgood Marshall College Fund, ACLU, USO, and Capital Area Food Bank.

One Planet to Call Home

Doing Our Part to Protect the Environment

We only have one planet and one chance to make it count.

Demonstrating our commitment to protecting our natural resources and the environment, OBXtek is certified in ISO 14001:2015, an Environment Management System (EMS) standard. By implementing best practices at our headquarters we hope to make incremental improvements to our daily operations that have a positive impact. We’ve replaced disposable drinkware with reusable ones, discontinued the wasteful use of disposable individual coffee pods, and have active initiatives to reduce excess paper use.

We are always looking for new, better ways to reduce our environmental footprint.

We recently completed our initial Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions inventory, which includes Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions using the World Resources Institute (WRI)/World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)’s GHG Protocol. Using this data, we will set goals for future reductions in our GHG emissions. This report is one of the ways we will demonstrate our goal of being a responsible company dedicated to achieving our customer’s missions in an environmentally sustainable way.
