OBXtek promotes Beth Barnickel to Director of Quality

McLean, VA, January 9, 2024 – OBXtek Inc. has promoted Beth Barnickel to Director of Quality. In this role, Ms. Barnickel will lead the Quality Program for OBXtek, taking it to the next level beyond an audit program to an integrated Quality and Process Improvement program reaching all aspects of the organization.

“Since joining in 2022, Beth has been a vital member of the team, improving and automating several processes for operational efficiency,” said Dale Spencer, OBXtek president and CEO. “She brings a strong work ethic, dedication, and extensive experience to OBXtek, and I’m excited to see her grow in this role.”

Ms. Barnickel has over 25 years’ experience within the federal government, DoD, and commercial sectors. Prior to joining OBXtek, Ms. Barnickel held multiple senior and executive level positions as a Vice President of Quality, Engineering at L3 Communications and Director of Quality, Lean Six Sigma Program at Northrop Grumman, where she was involved with strategic planning and a major corporate initiative to identify process improvements that would increase their competitive edge within the industry. She also ran the internal/external audit program and successfully registered over 28 sites to AS9100.

Ms. Barnickel earned her B.G.S. in Computer Science at American University and holds an MBA from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Sensei, a certified AS9100 Rev D, ISO9001 Lead Auditor (Probitas), certified ISO27001 Lead Auditor (IRCA), and certified Program Manager. She also earned a certification as a Paralegal from Dyke College in Cleveland, Ohio. Ms. Barnickel has served as a Board Member at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for the Lean Aerospace Initiative. She enjoys spending time with her family, running rock-n-roll half-marathons, surfing, golfing, fishing, and stock car racing. Her goal is to run the Marine Corps Marathon.
